Payment and Fees
Each individual practitioner will be able to provide you with a fee schedule based on the service provided.
Payment is expected at the time of service unless special arrangements are made between the patient and the care provider. Checks as well as Visa and MasterCard are accepted.
No provider within the Center is currently contracted “in network” with insurance companies. We will give our patients the necessary procedure and diagnosis codes so that they can obtain reimbursement at the “out of network” rates. Many alternative medical services are not reimbursable.
Medical and Gynecological Services provided by Dr. Cohen and Michelle Hartman are generally reimbursable at “out of network” rates. Those rates may vary depending upon the policy, but are commonly at 70% of the fee for service. Any pap tests, lab work or radiological testing is reimbursed at the normal “in network” rates since both health care providers are on most insurance company lists (through their hospital employed position). This is very favorable for the patient!
Example: If the fee for visit is $150, the patient would be reimbursed all but $50 from their insurance company. All lab work, etc. will be paid by that insurance company at the normal “in network” rate. Since most insurance companies have a visit co-pay of $25, the net difference would be $25. Instead of having a ten minute visit, the patient will spend an hour or more with the care provider.
All of the health care providers within the Healing Arts Center for Women spend the time needed to provide our patients with a comprehensive plan for wellness. It is important that we be notified, whenever possible, at least 24 hours in advance of a cancellation.
We do not participate with Kaiser, Medicaid or Medicare.
